One Day Events including Online
Online South Wales Leadership Day – 23rd April 2021
An online event run by the South Wales Balint Peer Group. The day will be a chance to reflect, contribute and network in Balint groups. Both ordinary and leadership Balint groups will be running on the day.
The event is open to current Balint leaders, Balint group members, and individuals interested in Balint with any background. Medical students are also welcome at a concessional rate.

Sligo Balint Symposium – Friday 21st May & Saturday 22nd May
The Sligo Balint Symposium is to be held online on Friday 21st May 7.00pm to 9.00pm and on Saturday 22nd May 9.00 am to 1.45pm. The theme of the meeting is “ Fragmentation in the time of COVID’. This symposium is a bi-annual event and is normally held in the West coast of Ireland. We aim to have an international representation and envisage important conversations to be held between health care providers from many perspectives.

London Leadership Day Online: Friday 11th June 2021, 10am to 5pm
This workshop will be of interest to those leading Balint groups, who wish to examine and develop their leadership skills. We will explore some of the successes, difficulties, and pitfalls in leading such groups in a variety of different settings.
The day will count towards Leadership Accreditation.

Newcastle Balint Day on Zoom: Friday 2nd July 2021, 9.30am to 3pm
We would like to invite you to join us for a day of Balint groups, reflection, and a talk by Dr. Raluca Soreanu, Psychoanalyst, Reader in Psychoanalytic Studies, and Director of Research in the Department of Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies at Essex University. Raluca is editor of the Balint Society Journal and has extensive knowledge of the Michael Balint Archive.

Group Leaders’ Peer Supervision Workshops
- Birmingham Leaders’ Peer Supervision Group: If you are leading a group, or are interested in becoming a leader, this is for you. The intention is to provide supervision support in a group setting. We meet every two months at Edgbaston Golf Club, Birmingham, B15. The meeting is usually on the third Thursday of the month, from 7-9pm. Please contact Dr Shake Seigel for further information.
- Tavistock/London Leaders’ Peer Supervision Group : Please contact David Watt if you are interested in presenting your group. Meetings usually take place at the Tavistock Clinic, 120 Belsize Lane, London NW3 5BA however at present due to Covid-19 they are to be held online using the Zoom platform. Next meeting dates as follows: Tuesday 3rd November, Thursday 4th February, Tuesday 4th May 2021. All meetings begin at 8pm and end at 10pm.
- North East Peer Supervision Group: Please contact Jane Dammers if you would like to attend or present your group. The Balint leaders peer supervision group is open to anybody in the region who is running a Balint group. We meet for 2 hours and have time to discuss one or two groups as well as discussing some more general issues. There is no charge for this group. If you know anybody who is involved in Balint and is not on the mailing list please feel free to invite them to come along. The next meeting will take place 10am – 11.30am on Zoom, June 17th 2021.
- North West Leaders’ Peer Supervision Group: Please contact Ceri Dornan if you would like to attend this or future meetings. Next meeting: to be decided.
