Oxford Balint Weekend

Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th September 2022

Corpus Christi College.

Refresh your enthusiasm, Revive your empathy, Share your experience of the consultation. Come to understand your feelings and how to work more effectively

Balint Groups, Demonstration Group, Group Leaders Workshop

Groups are made up of GPs and allied professionals, led by experienced leaders, and explore the psychological and emotional aspects in patient work. Group experience is not necessary.

Belfast Balint Conference

 Friday 18th to Sunday 20th November 2022

The Malone Lodge Hotel, Belfast.

We are planning for a face to face conference this year. The conference will last from Friday evening through to Sunday.

Registration will be open from 5pm, and our opening speaker will be at 7pm. We will have Balint group sessions: these will be for either group members or leadership workshops. There will also be the opportunity to participate in a fishbowl scenario.

The conference will conclude at 12.15. There will be a social dinner on Saturday evening. The cost of this will be included in the conference fee.

Group Leaders’ Peer Supervision Workshops

  • Birmingham Leaders’ Peer Supervision Group: If you are leading a group, or are interested in becoming a leader, this is for you.  The intention is to provide supervision support in a group setting.  We meet every two months at Edgbaston Golf Club, Birmingham, B15. The meeting is usually on the third Thursday of the month, from 7-9pm. Please contact Dr Shake Seigel for further information.
  • Tavistock/London Leaders’ Peer Supervision Group : Please contact David Watt if you are interested in presenting your group. Meetings usually take place at the Tavistock Clinic, 120 Belsize Lane, London NW3 5BA however at present due to Covid-19 they are to be held online using the Zoom platform.  All meetings begin at 8pm and end at 10pm.
  • North East Peer Supervision GroupPlease contact Jane Dammers if you would like to attend or present your group. The Balint leaders peer supervision group is open to anybody in the region who is running a Balint group.  We meet for 2 hours and have time to discuss one or two groups as well as discussing some more general issues.  There is no charge for this group.  If you know anybody who is involved in Balint and is not on the mailing list please feel free to invite them to come along. The next meeting will take place 10am – 12:00 on Zoom, Thursday 7th July 2022.
  • North West Leaders’ Peer Supervision Group: Please contact Ceri Dornan if you would like to attend this or future meetings. Next meeting: to be decided.
