Exploring identities - the Professionals, their Patients, the Leaders and the Groups
Our Annual Study Day for Leaders is part of continuing professional development for all our accredited leaders - there are nearly 150 of you now. We also welcome those on the accreditation pathway and others who are leading groups.
The study day has moved to Birmingham this year as the London venue was proving too small to accommodate us all.
The day will have some talks, group work and general discussion. The full programme is below.
You can choose one of two types of group:
- Balint/leadership group We will ask participants to have a case in mind where issues of identity seem particularly important.
- Supervision group We will ask participants to have a Balint group session in mind, which they led / co-led where these issues seemed particularly important. It is helpful to come with your co-leader.
Birmingham University is very accessible by train, plane and car. We have scheduled the day to have enough time in a relaxed atmosphere and allow many people to avoid having to stay overnight. We hope you will stay to the early evening drinks reception when we will celebrate leaders who have become who have become accredited in the last two years.
If you are staying overnight you can book accommodation at the venue (https://www.edgbastonparkhotel.com) or there are many other hotels nearby.
